I'd like to introduce you to Elizabeth Hockenberger. Her photo was found at The Brass Armadillo Antique Mall in Denver, Colorado. I was on a road trip with my grandma and two aunts and we decided to do some antique shopping on our way into Denver from Estes Park. While they wondered the antique mall, I sat in one particular corner and scoured through hundreds of old photos.
I cam across Elizabeth's photo and immediately knew I wanted to purchase it. Not only was it a beautiful photo, but it also has her name and photographer information on the back. I figured there was a good chance I'd be able to figure out exactly who Elizabeth was and find her in some historical records.
Welcome to Forsaken Photos!
I love antique shopping and finding old photos. It amazes me how many old photos are abandoned and forgotten. Each of these people lived their lives with family, friends, and coworkers, but by the time they ended up in antique stores they were forsaken.
I want to reintroduce their faces and lives back into the world. Most photos I find do not have any names or dates on them, but when I do find one with identifying information I snag it and begin researching to find out who they were, where they lived, and hopefully find living family members that I can return their photos to.
Below is my first photo of this collection. He is now the mascot of Forsaken Photos. I do not know who he is. I do not know when or where the photo was taken, but he is very handsome and has incredible hair!
